Saturday is another AMODA event. This one has Cadence Weapon (can you actually do anything on that web page?). It is at Club Deville. You can surf all of these links while lounging at the show instead of making eye contact with the guy whose beard has grown just a little bit too hinky.

Now that the feeling is returning to all the extremities, and the throat pain from too many cigars and fog machines has subsided, as we slurp down our last illicitly stashed free Izze, it seemed prudent to share a thought with our readers.

Every year it is said: "Next Year I'm (Finally) Getting a Badge". This year is no different, and it was said at approximately 5:42pm on January the 14th. There is about a week and a half before it all starts, and I, er, royal We are nowhere near knowing what the hell we will be doing. We will try to post some choice picks/suggestions. There will be a, uh, 'representative' in the field with the Osmium Umiac album and Sofawreck stickers. Beers and other bribes will cause said representative to be very generous with the shiny plastic discs. Just a suggestion.

And also, if there was something in the works to be ready by then, and it didn't make it, well, that would be pretty shoddy. That is all.

... but very very neglected. The process of searching for, purchasing, and moving into a new 'home office' is consuming. I am really very glad that we released Passage when we did. If it slipped another month it may never have happened.

It is a tossup as to whether the next release is going to be from ol okuloj or Stammergall. We'll just have to wait and see. The target is to get the next release out before SXSW, as it will have a certain disruptive capability, at least on getting anything done. I am going to break the previous record and say now on the first of January, "Next year I should get a badge."

I'm tired and cranky, but I managed to make the web site live without deleting everything. I even made a backup. Hooray!

More like the mad dash to finish everything I put off until the end. I should have everything together to open up the site tonight at midnight.

The disks on the other hand may not be in my mitts until wednesday. Shouldn't happen again, and partially my fault. You learn things. And other self-consoling phrases. But it was a little crushing to have a box of discs and have to take them all back.

So the disk, aka SOF0002, aka 'Passage', is now at the duplicators. I should have a not too gynormous box of discs by sometime on Wednesday, and we can see how many mistakes I made.

Similar to an oft referenced Frank Zappa quote, there are certain things I must have in the creation of this record label. One of those is stickers. Like a certain time in the past, I went with StickerGuy. Upside: cheap. Downside: can take a long time. But my order seemed to come through on time, and the output quality is great.

With just about 2 weeks to go, things will (have to) come together for launch. More on that later.

Working on a set of songs for the amount of time it takes to mix and master them causes you to first love them, then hate them, repeat. Then once I am done, I have to sit and wait before I can let the rest of the world hear them, an additional torture. We will see if I survive.

Things are still on course for Sept 23rd, but I don't know where the launch event will be, still thinking about that. My first choice has been less than responsive.
